Vision 600 Synthetic Aperture Sonar
The Vision 600 is the first in a series of SAS capable sonars from QinetiQ. The research and experience of QinetiQ has combined to bring to market a small, light, energy efficient sonar capable of producing one inch resolution at ranges beyond one hundred metres.
Utilising Synthetic Aperture technology the system produces continuous incredibly high fixed resolution seabed images over the whole swath. Its small size of only 600mm in length and a power consumption of around 100 watts belies the awesome capability of this system.
