A typical programme includes:
Continuing and type airworthiness review: a periodic, independent assessment of fleet airworthiness, reviewing procedures, management processes, assumptions and documentation.
Physical condition survey: an independent physical examination of the condition and husbandry standards of representative aircraft from the fleet, measuring the effectiveness of existing maintenance standards/policy.
Zonal hazard analysis: validation of the aircraft design for potential undesirable system interactions based on system composition within a zone and/or adjacent zones. Recognised by the UK Military Aviation Authority (UK MAA), it should be used to inform the platform Safety Case.
Benefits
- Increased safety
- Increased availability
- Reduced through-life costs
- Increased value at end of life
Unique selling points
We have over 10 years experience of PCS programmes, with 20+ successful programmes completed covering fast jet, helicopters and large aircraft. Our approved process is endorsed by the UK MAA, and we demonstrate a willingness to share good practice and collaborate with primes.
We are independent, with advantages that come with a ‘fresh pair of eyes’, and there is no conflict of interest. Independence is one of the key principles discussed in the Haddon-Cave Nimrod Review “to ensure an effective safety and airworthiness regime in the future”.
Several of our customers operate platforms that are beyond their mid-life update point and are suffering with poor availability or worse, potential flight safety implications. Budgets are tight and new procurement is not an option. All programmes have resulted in positive changes to the aircraft’s continued airworthiness.
