Growing Australia’s sovereign test and evaluation expertise

TESSP is QinetiQ’s structured and bespoke career development program aimed at building and enhancing sovereign test and evaluation skills in Australia, and aims to grow Australia’s SQEP (Suitably Qualified Experienced Personnel) T&E workforce to meet future demands.
The achievement by Richard Alder, Brett Mewett, Fabrice Theodore, Scott Busby and Tim Yan Muk was celebrated at an event in Canberra, attended by the FY23 and FY24 cohorts along with Australia Sector Leadership and program team members.
The participants commenced the structured learning program in November 2022, before completing their three-month placement with T&E Subject Matter Experts at world-class T&E facilities in the United Kingdom.
They successfully completed their assessments over the subsequent months to achieve the award in December.
Chief Technology Officer of the Australia Sector, Michael Houston, said the TESSP model is holistic with success dependent on significant contributions from multiple sectors and all functions within QinetiQ.
“TESSP is a major Group investment in both the development of our people and in the T&E capability that is so strategically important to our customers and our business,” Michael said.
“It realises a new, game changing, whole-of-business approach to training and development which leverages our core T&E capability in the United Kingdom.
Program Manager, Liza Payne, said it was a privilege to be present in Australia to celebrate the success of our inaugural cohort completing the TESSP award.
“Their efforts and achievement demonstrates the investment QinetiQ is making globally to develop sovereign SQEP capability within T&E,” Liza said.
“Through continuous improvement and evolution, TESSP will be further enhancing our offering in the future to deliver even more learning products and development pathways for our T&E Leaders of the future.”
The next Australian cohort of TESSP participants have already completed their on-site placements and are expected to graduate later this year.
